The ocean breeze is chilly in the early days of May. Still, most of the vessel’s passengers are out on the deck, enjoying the view. All that can be seen is bare land… and the lighthouse. The “Lady Martha’s” ferry finally takes a right turn into the Vineyard Haven harbor. Grey roofs pop into view - nothing special. “Don’t worry,” someone says, “It’s only May.”

If you are expecting to find bulls, toreadors, and flamenco dancers in Valencia you are definitely in the wrong place. Instead, what you may find is the sizzling Californian sun, celebrities shopping at your neighborhood supermarket, and the best roller coasters you will ever experience.
