Photograph by Milena Penkova | Business professor Lucia Miree did not cover her lectures this week. Miree said she had to leave temporarily for “personal medical reasons” and she would be back either after the spring break, or in the fall. This semester Miree is teaching Organizational Theory and Behavior and two courses in Human Resources Management. However, her lectures were not cancelled. “She has made arrangements to have her classes covered this week,” Dean of Faculty Steve Sullivan said. “If she needs to be away longer, we will have to make some further arrangements.” It is a usual practice in cases of illnesses and conferences for a colleague to cover a class, give a guest lecture or an exam, Sullivan said. |
Professors Julio Pontes and Jonathan Fife will be covering part of her classes, and Maia Parmakova, head of the AdvisingCenter, will give a guest lecture. “We want to see her get well as quickly as possible,” said Alf Eastergard, chair of the Business Department.
