How many of the current billionaires have been rejected a job position because of poor CV? Very few are people can brag about their unique CV’s, which got them the most desired job and eventually turned them into billionaires. How do you think Bill Gates became the filthy rich guy he is? Well, definitely not because of his resume. If he ever had one, then at the top of the resume it would have said “Harvard drop-out”. Not many companies would hire a person without a higher education. The same problem has Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple. Fortunately for them, they were two of the very few geniuses that did not need a good CV to become leading businessmen in the world. However, for us, normal people, there exists this problem and we must be very concerned about it. I do not know how to make my resume stand out, but I know how not to make some major mistakes that will prevent me from showing my potential. In my resume there will be a section about my job experience and I will definitely forget to mention most of my high school summer jobs. I will even skip some of the Work and Travel job positions because many employers do not find them as meaningful as I do. I will try not to show my religious views or any political affiliations in the resume because it is always possible that the person reading my CV does not share my beliefs and may might be bias in their assessment. I will not lie or ascribe to myself any qualifications that I do not have because if I get hired based on a misspecification of facts sooner or later I will get in trouble. Another important aspect of my resume will be the lack of any negativism and probably abundance of optimism. When I read something full of positive thoughts I feel good and more inclined to be good to the person who wrote it. I suppose it is the same way with employers. Furthermore, the resume should be grammatically correct because a CV with spelling mistakes makes even a worse impression than the lack of appropriate job experience. There are many other things that should not be or should be included in a resume and it would be great to hear some more ideas.
