MAR 19 - Elena Poptodorova (first picture), Ambassador-at-Large for the Black Sea Region and former Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the U.S. Poptodorova was the speaker of honor at City Officials Cocktail-Reception, serving to celebrate the 16th AUBG Graduating Class. The event is organized each year for the city and regional governance, Board of Trustees and representatives of local cultural, educational and business organizations. Photos by Mariya Kaneva

MAR 19 - Organized by the AUBG United Nations Model Club, the first Blagoevgrad UN Model (BLIMUN) hosted 26 students, four of them from Sofia University and two -- from Albania. For three days, the students simulated the work of the Security Council and the United Nations Human Rights Committee. Photos by Asen Dimitrov

MAR 20 - Laura Orsi, Senior Lecturer in Italian Studies at Boston University and Franklin College in Switzerland, was invited by History Professor Diego Lucci to talk about the meaning of the word “serendipity” and its origin from a book about the adventures of the Serendip (Sri Lankan) princes published in Venice in 1557. MAR 20 - The City Children Choir to the "Nikola Vaptsarov" Chitalishte in Blagoevgrad, conducted by the AUBG professor Hristo Krotev, performed in the Main Building Auditorium. MAR 22 - The 31-year-old famous Bulgarian rock band Signal performed some of its most memorable songs in new orchestration. The event was organized by the Blagoevgrad municipality and took place on the square in front of the Chamber Opera House. Photo by Asen Dimitrov


MAR 23 - Bulgarian Minister of European Affairs Gergana Passy came to AUBG on Verve's initiative, supported by President David Huwiler and the Student Government.
