Every Wednesday and Sunday AUBGers gather in Scapto 2 gym to kick, jump, and punch as they practice Tae Bo. The moves they learn are the original ones invented by the creator of the sport, Billy Blanks. Tae Bo exercises are a combination of karate, gymnastics and kickboxing moves.

“Tae Bo is a very complex sport and requires a lot of energy,” says  instructor Hristo Dundalov. The main idea of the exercises is to help its practitioners lose weight and strengthen their muscles. During the sessions, students do not train with any additional weights; rather, they work out with their own body mass. Series of stretchings and repetitions have a positive effect on muscle growth.

Sophomore Denitsa Charkova, who often attends Tae Bo, is pleased with the practicing sessions: “I have lost weight after attending the trainings. I also really enjoy the professionalism of Hristo, he knows exactly which exercise to apply for a specific muscle group.”

Hristo Dundalov, a fitness instructor in Skaptopara gyms, has been a Tae Bo instructor for a year.
